This Italian-inspired dish is perfect for those who love a little heat and a burst of flavors. Get ready to impress your guests or your loved ones with this delectable seafood dish!

Ingredients

  • 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (400 grams) of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of white wine
  • 1/4 cup of fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 250 grams (8.8 ounces) of linguine or spaghetti
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Directions

  1. Start by cooking the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes and white wine to the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Add the chopped basil to the skillet and stir well to combine.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss everything together until well coated.
  7. Serve the Shrimp Fra Diavolo hot, garnished with fresh parsley. Enjoy!

Notes/Tips

– For an extra kick of heat, you can adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes according to your taste preference.

– If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer it for a little longer to reduce and concentrate the flavors.

– Feel free to add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top for added richness and flavor.
