Hamburger
Ingredients:
For the Patties:
- Ground Beef: 1 pound (450 grams) – Use 80/20 beef for the best flavor and juiciness.
- Salt: To taste
- Black Pepper: To taste
Additional:
- Hamburger Buns: 4, toasted
- Cheese Slices: Optional (cheddar, Swiss, American, etc.)
- Lettuce: Washed and dried
- Tomato: Sliced
- Onion: Sliced, can be raw or grilled
- Pickles: Sliced
- Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayonnaise: For dressing
- Butter or Oil: For grilling
Instructions:
- Prepare the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 ounces each). Form each portion loosely into a ¾ inch-thick burger patty. Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Patties:
- Preheat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grill or pan with oil.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time for your preferred doneness.
- If you are adding cheese, place a slice on each patty about 1 minute before the patties are done; cover the grill or pan to melt the cheese.
- Toast the Buns:
- Butter the insides of the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill or in a pan until lightly browned.
- Assemble the Hamburgers:
- Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato and onion.
- Add the cooked patty on top.
- Add pickles and your desired condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise).
- Cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve:
- Serve the hamburgers immediately with your choice of sides, such as fries, coleslaw, or a salad.

- Beef Quality: Use good quality ground beef with a fat content of around 20% for juicy burgers.
- Handling the Meat: Handle the meat as little as possible so it doesn’t become tough. Do not press down on the patties while cooking, as this squeezes out the juices.
